OUR RHINOPLASTY RESULTS

MEET OUR RHINO EXPERT

The nose is a central facial feature that often draws attention. Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, serves not only to correct aesthetic imperfections but also to address functional issues such as breathing difficulties caused by deviations. In Turkey, rhinoplasty procedures may encompass corrective measures aimed at both improving the nose’s appearance and restoring its proper function. This involves rectifying deviated structures, addressing obstructions caused by bone or cartilage irregularities, and optimizing nasal airflow for enhanced breathing.

STEP BY STEP SURGICAL NOSE JOB

Who are good candidates of rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty usually involves correction of abnormalities in bone tissue. Therefore, it should be performed after maturation of bones. This achieved around age of 10 years in most patients. If patients do not have a serious severe deformity or a breathing problem, rhinoplasty is scheduled after the patient is 18 years old.

Since bone maturation is a bit quicker in women, rhinoplasty can be performed in female patients around 17 upon consent of parents. However, I believe that it is necessary to wait for psychological maturation of patients. Therefore, I recommend to perform rhinoplasty after 18.

I underwent nose surgery a year ago with Dr. Salih Onur Basat. I found him through Google searches. The whole experience, from surgery to recovery, was surprisingly comfortable. I had minimal swelling and bruising afterward, which made the process even smoother. My goal was a natural-looking nose, and thanks to Dr. Basat’s expertise, I got exactly what I wanted. I’m grateful for his skillful work!

    FAQ

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions About Rhinoplasty Surgery Below

Is hospital stay required after rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is a surgery that must be performed under general anesthesia. This issue is highly important for patient comfort. As is the case with all surgeries performed under general anesthesia, patients are recommended to stay in hospital for one night after rhinoplasty. Here, the purpose is to completely recover patients from effects of general anesthesia.

How long is rhinoplasty process in Turkey?

The length of the rhinoplasty process in Turkey can vary depending on several factors, such as the complexity of the procedure, the surgeon’s experience, the patient’s individual needs, and the clinic’s scheduling. Generally, the process can take around 5 to 7 days, but it can be longer or shorter depending on the individual case.

During the initial consultation, the surgeon will evaluate the patient’s nose and discuss the desired outcome. The surgeon will then create a personalized treatment plan that takes into account the patient’s goals, nasal structure, and other factors.

On the day of the procedure, the patient will undergo the surgery, which can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours. After the surgery, the patient will typically spend one night in the clinic for observation.

Following the surgery, the patient will need to attend follow-up appointments with the surgeon to monitor healing and remove any sutures or dressings. Patients are typically advised to avoid strenuous activities for a few weeks following the surgery, and to wear a splint or cast on the nose for about a week.

Overall, the rhinoplasty process in Turkey can be completed within a week, but it is important to note that recovery times can vary depending on the individual case. Patients should discuss their recovery expectations and timelines with their surgeon before the procedure.

Why is surgery so much cheaper in Turkey?

There are several reasons why surgery can be much cheaper in Turkey compared to other countries, such as the United States or European countries. Some of these reasons include:

    • Lower cost of living: Turkey has a lower cost of living compared to many Western countries, which means that the cost of labor and materials used in surgery is also lower.
    • Lower overhead costs: Clinics and hospitals in Turkey generally have lower overhead costs compared to those in Western countries. This can be due to lower taxes, lower real estate prices, and lower administrative costs.
    • Government incentives: The Turkish government offers incentives to encourage medical tourism, which can help to reduce the cost of medical procedures.
    • Currency exchange rates: The Turkish lira has historically been weaker than currencies such as the US dollar and the Euro, which means that patients paying in these currencies can get more for their money.
    • High competition: Turkey has a highly competitive market for medical tourism, which can lead to lower prices for patients.
